Ibiza, all night parties, music festivals and unmentionable behaviour, right? Wrong! This reputation has engulfed the island, however the main attraction of Ibiza is the charming north part of the island. Known as the White Island, north Ibiza is best seen during the day.
One of the best things to discover are the luxury villas in Ibiza. Imagine a private house all to yourself. Make your own party with the ample entertaining terrace and bbq area. Have your private chef cook a fantastic dinner served poolside or just lounge the day away in the luxurious lounge and movie room.
What to see in the north of Ibiza?
A perk of having amazing Ibiza located on a small island is that you can see all of it in just a few days. Just forty kilometres from north to south. Day trips from your villa to the north are easy and delightful with the splendid scenery to take in along the way.
The rural north side is still vastly a natural landscape with traditional old villages sprinkled throughout. It’s very different than the east where the capital is located and the pace is more energetic.
Sant Carles de Peralta
The village of Sant Carles de Peralta with its whitewashed houses and local icons such as Las Dalias market, Anita Bar and the restaurant Es Trull de Ca n’Andreu. Be sure to try the famous herbal liqueur at Anita Bar.
San Vicente
San Vicente is a beautiful stretch of beach with very fine sand. The intense tranquillity makes it ideal for families. Splash about, have a drink in a lounge chair or take up snorkelling. A drive is highly recommended because along this way you travel through wildflower fields, rural villages and you can spot the tallest peak on the island, Puig des Formàs, which stands at 409 metres high.
Santa Agnès
If you continue your drive you will make your way through the almond tree farms. When they are in bloom it is a magical sight, white and pink blossoms as far as the eye can see. All that on a background of a deep blue sea.
Sant Mateu d’Aubarca
Sant Mateu d’Aubarca is where you can stop on your tour and enjoy a glass of wine. Grand vineyards with family history and heritage passed down over hundreds of years are the essence of this region. There are many wineries that make up this landscape. If you’re taking notes, the grapes here are mostly Monastrell and Garnacha grapes. If you need a break from the car, a hiking excursion to the cliffs of Cala d’Albarca or to the archaeological sites of Torres d’en Lluch is a point of great interest.
Cala Salada
This is the famous bay that ranks among the best beaches of the Balearic archipelago and some would say the country. This clean and calm beach has water that is a heavenly turquoise blue that sings against the backdrop of tall deep green pine trees.
Can Marça Cave
Can Marça is a historic cave that has the quintessential stalactites and stalagmites, as well as several caverns that you can visit. Explore the fascinating wonder of nature millions of years in the making.
